As an addition to this post, I have now released Beta 1 of the theme, named it StripedPlus. Download it here.

This release works as intended, but if you find any bugs, please be sure to report them, either here or in the forum.

Take the theme for a test run - remember the options shown below is only available through the WordPress administration interface.
