Wordpress: GetAMint 3.0

GetAMint has been updated to version 3.0! New in this release is, that you can grab statistics from the »Download Counter«-pepper, and the speed has been increased alot!
Note that browser- and platformstatistics are based on visits, and not unique visits!
Please donate a little here if you like the plugin!

Short info

This plugin is not a standalone statistics package for WordPress - not at all. This plugin makes it possible for your WordPress install to interact with Mint and show stats on your website using templatetags or posttags.

Download

Download the plugin here!
(This plugin has been downloaded [mintdl]wpcontentdownloadsgetamint3zip[/mintdl] times, version 1.0 was downloaded [mintdl]wpcontentdownloadsgetamintzip[/mintdl] times, and version 2.0 was downloaded [mintdl]wpcontentdownloadsgetamint2zip[/mintdl] times)

Demonstration

Check the footer, see total unique hits - its live from my mint database through a template tag.

You can also call the stats directly within a post, just like here:

Matt Brett Says:

Stoked to see the new version and the download counter integration. Unfrotunately, I can’t get it to reflect the downloads for a file on my site.

This is the full path to the file. So it should be entered as ‘downloadsxbox360controllerimageguidezip’, right? Maybe it’s not playing nice with the hyphens?

19/01-2006 | 2:16

Matt Brett Says:

I’m an idiot…

THIS is the full path.

19/01-2006 | 2:16

The undersigned Says:

Should be entered like this, with [] instead of (): (mintdl)’downloadsxbox360
controllerimageguidezip’(/mintdl)

19/01-2006 | 6:55

Matt Brett Says:

Thanks for the quick reply.

No dice on getting this to work though. I had tried that initially, but it just displays 0. I’ve tried replacing the dashes with the xhtml entity, but no luck.

I know the database info is correct in the config file as I’ve been able to pull other stats no problem. I’ve now tried different downloads - some without dashes, none of them show the download count. Have you tried showing the download count for files outside of the wp-content directory? I have all of mine in /downloads.

19/01-2006 | 17:32

The undersigned Says:

The path should be the exact same as showed on your mint site..
Ex. wp-content/downloads/GetAMint3.zip = wpcontentdownloadsgetamint3zip

19/01-2006 | 17:37

The undersigned Says:

Woops.. my bad.. error in my documentation :) No quotationmarks when tagging in posts.. just the []’s

19/01-2006 | 17:44

Matt Brett Says:

Yeah, I realized no quatation marks.

Here’s exactly what I’m doing. I’ve used another file with a shorter name for testing.

The file is located at downloads/feed-icon.zip (copied directly from Mint)

This is what I’m dropping in a post…

[mintdl]downloadsfeediconzip[/mintdl]

I’ve got this on an old post so you can see the output. Should be showing 2,427, not 0.

19/01-2006 | 18:46

The undersigned Says:

if you do a mattbrett.com/mint/?observe, in the bottom you’ll see some mint details.. which array number are you downloadcounts stored? 10?

19/01-2006 | 19:06

Matt Brett Says:

There we go! It’s stored on array 6. Once I changed the array in getamint.php it worked.

19/01-2006 | 19:55

The undersigned Says:

Nice, I’ll take note of that one! I have only tested the plugin on my own WP and Mint install - I think I’m gonna post an update ASAP :)

19/01-2006 | 20:10

Matt Brett Says:

Good stuff! Perhaps I could suggest one more improvement? Commas to separate thousands. So 2427 = 2,427. I have a site I want to use this on that’s already over 20,000 and want to display the download count pretty prominently. It will be a little more difficult to read as the number gets bigger if there’s no separator.

If you need help testing new stuff, I don’t mind helping out.

Yea, that should easily be possible.. at least if you have a bit of php-knowledge..

Shaun Says:

Not sure if it’s a little early for feature requests that go in an entirely different direction, but I’d be very interested in having the ability to show a ‘x most visited’ list within the template itself. I was actually on my way to doing this before I thought I’d google around for anything similar first, so let me know if you’d appreciate a hand :)

07/02-2006 | 3:00

Shaun, I think that would be easy implementable to the plugin, but at the moment I am kind of busy with other projects, you’re welcome to download the plugin and edit it to fit your needs, but if you concider republishing it, please credit me for the original code.

bodsham Says:

This looks great but as a new Mint user I have one huge problem. I can’t see way to get the public statistics to include the hits we already have through Statcounter. I’d have to start again with zero if I switched from Statcounter to Mint for the public stats, which would look bad for readers. Or is there some way in which I can make the statistics start at our existing level?

21/02-2006 | 18:08

Ah…. thanks. I had no idea that was there. Will have a go…

21/02-2006 | 23:01

bodsham Says:

Works great up to a point. I can get total unique visits, but everything else comes out as zero for some reason. I’m trying to use it as a sidebar module in the module add on for K2. Don’t know if this is the reason, though it seems odd the total should work and not the others.

you may have forgotten to set the timezone offset in config.php?

Yes = that was it. I had it at the defaul of 1 which I thought would be OK in the UK. But changing it to 0 seems to fix things. Thanks again!

22/02-2006 | 18:26

astorg Says:

I have exactly the same problem as bodsham, and I have set the timezone to -1 (for France) which should be right… Visits are fine, and everything else is 0…

I’m lost…

Bruce Says:

Tried to add download counter to a page here:

http://www.bioneural.net/2005/02/25/qof-checklist-and-read-codes/

Result:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/.ashea/bioneural/bioneural.net/wp-content/plugins/getamint.php on line 145

Warning: array_change_key_case(): The argument should be an array in /home/.ashea/bioneural/bioneural.net/wp-content/plugins/getamint.php on line 15

Also, at bioneural.net/about this works in my sidebar:

mintvisit(’totalunique’);

and this WAS working but no longer does:

mintvisit(’dayunique’);

using GetAMint 3.0 (reporting itself as 1.0)

06/07-2006 | 17:40

Bruce Says:

Update: I got the download counter working by following hte discussion above with Matt, who edited getamint.php. In my case the downloads array as per mint/?observe was 13, so I edited to:

$downloadarray = $mint_data[13][’downloads’];

Bharath, if you do this I think it will get rid of your array_change_key_case() error as it did for me.

Unfortunately this trick didn’t work on my unique daily visitor count.

mintvisit(’totalunique’); is in array=0, in getamint.php as $totalunique = $mint_data[0][’visits’][0][0][’unique’]; … this works.

However, mintvisit(’dayunique’); is in array=2, in getamint.php as $dayunique = $mint_data[0][’visits’][2][$day][’unique’]; … but this doesn’t work.

I just installed your plugin, and am also running into the problem where all I get is ‘0′ for all the reported info. As a point of comparison, I also installed the script available from Sam, which accurately posts the total visits & total unique visits numbers from my Mint db.

TIA,
